Bantwal, Oct 26: A break-in occurred at the well-known Sri Lakshminivas KT Hotel in Kalladka, which has been a local favourite for several years. CCTV footage of the intruder has gone viral on social media.

The thief reportedly entered the hotel and stole the offering box (hundi) kept for the deity. While the police have confirmed the theft, they also stated that the hotel owners have not filed a formal complaint.

The CCTV footage shows the thief, who stole small change from the offering box, wandering through other areas of the hotel as well. Around 2 am on Friday, a helmet-wearing individual broke into the hotel, using a flashlight to search the cash counter and other sections. The footage reveals the thief spent around 7 minutes moving around the hotel at ease.

The Bantwal town police have obtained the CCTV footage and launched an investigation. Meanwhile, images and video of the thief have already gone viral on social media.
