Beltangady, Oct 1: The Women Cell of sacred heart college Madanthyar inaugurated on October 1 its activities with a resourceful talk on social wellness, featuring Dr Mona Jaqueline Mendonca as the distinguished speaker. The event commenced with a traditional lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the enlightenment of knowledge and awareness.
Prof Alex Ivan Sequeira presided over the program, highlighting the importance of women's empowerment and social wellness in contemporary society. Thejadri, the student coordinator, warmly welcomed the gathering, while Melani expertly compered the event, ensuring a smooth flow of proceedings.
Dr Mendonca emphasized key aspects of social behavior, hygiene, and responsible social media usage. Her insights provided practical guidance on how students can enhance their social interactions and maintain personal well-being in a digitally connected world.
The program concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Delisha, expressing gratitude to Dr Mendonca, the dignitaries, and the attendees. Following the talk, Jeeva V C, the Women Cell coordinator, addressed the female students, offering essential instructions on cleanliness and the proper usage of ladies' facilities, reinforcing the message of personal and communal hygiene.
In an engaging follow-up to the program, a Rangoli competition on women empowerment was held, attracting participation from 11 enthusiastic teams. This activity not only fostered creativity but also encouraged students to reflect on the theme of women's empowerment through art.
