Kaup: Car, autorickshaw collision – Two injured

Kaup, Sep 29: Two people, including the autorickshaw driver, were injured in a head-on collision between a car and an autorickshaw near the Mosque Junction in Kaup on Saturday night.

The injured have been identified as autorickshaw driver Poornesh and passenger Noor Saheb. The car was traveling from Kerala to Udupi, while the autorickshaw was heading towards Polipu from the Kaup market area.

Both vehicles were badly damaged in the accident. The injured were admitted to a private hospital in Udupi. Traffic on National Highway 66 was disrupted for some time due to the accident.

Kaup police visited the spot and restored the traffic flow.

    Car travelling from Kerala to Udupi would have been at overspeed surely.....People nowadays have become so rich that they are able to afford luxury cars and do rash driving out of arrogance.. all cos of easy money even though country's economy is dropping day by day low..... rest in peace

    Sir, please don't comment if you don't know what the situation was. The rickshaw drove on the wrong side of the road, and that's why a head on collision. Wrong to always blame car drivers. Just because someone owns a car doe9mean they are monsters. Blame the busses who drive like mad men. You will get many supporters.
