Udupi, Sep 27: Emerging leader Kodimbadi Hariprasad Rai has officially filed his candidacy for the MLC elections for the Udupi-Dakshina Kannada seat. As part of the application process, Rai has contributed Rs 1 lac to the KPCC building fund, as directed by the party high command for all aspirants.
A successful businessman and philanthropist, Hariprasad Rai currently heads several educational institutions in Puttur, Mangaluru, Soraba, and Udupi districts, providing education to over 3,000 students. He also leads the HPR Foundation, through which he engages in various social service initiatives.
As a grassroots Congressman, Rai has held multiple positions within the party, rising from booth president to district Congress vice president. During his student years, he served as the NSUI president in Puttur.
In addition to his political and educational contributions, Hariprasad Rai serves as the president of the Udupi District Athletics Association, which is overseen at the state level by Home Minister Dr G Parameshwara.
Rai's commitment to social causes is commendable. He is a member of the Red Cross organisation in Udupi and has served as the province president of Lions Club 317C. He is also an esteemed member of the National Population Stabilization Fund under the aegis of the Government of India.
In the film industry, Hariprasad Rai has produced several notable movies in the Tulu language. He currently serves as the director of Pragathi Credit Co-operative Society and works as a lecturer at the Fortune Academy of Health Sciences in Brahmavar, further demonstrating his dedication to education.
With his diverse experience and community involvement, Hariprasad Rai aims to bring positive change to the Udupi-Dakshina Kannada region through his candidacy.
