Kundapur, Sep 24: The headless body of Karunakar Shetty (72) was found on Saturday in the Panchagangavali rivulet near Kalihitlu, Gujjadi village. Despite continued efforts by Gangolli police, the missing head remains unfound after three days.

Dinesh Kharvi, a local diving expert, led the search operation under the direction of Gangolli SI Harish R. Local fishermen also assisted in the search, but the head has yet to be recovered.

The cause of Karunakar Shetty's death remains unclear. He went missing on the night of September 19, and his headless body was discovered on Saturday morning.

Authorities are unsure whether the head became separated after he potentially tied a rope to the bridge and jumped into the river, or if foul play was involved and the body was disposed of in the river.
