Mangalore: Income Tax Raid on Eight Doctors in City

Mangalore, Nov 23: IT department officials from Bangalore swooped down on eight doctors in the city on the morning of Wednesday November 23.

The raid operation is currently going on against the doctors in different parts of the city. In all, eight clinics and residences were raided, among which two are Kaibattalu and Doctors' Colony, Water Woods, both in Kadri, and another in Balmatta.
It is said that the IT officials raided after reports that some of the doctors in the city had purchased cars worth Rs 60 lacs without applying for loans. Also, unconfirmed reports said that the doctors were also involved in an illegal revaluation of land and consequent share transfer to general public.
Sources said that nearly 130 IT officials are part of the operation.
