Mangalore: Bus, Batteries and Laptop Stealer Muneer in Police Net

Mangalore, Nov 21: The Kadri police in the city, on Sunday November 20, have succeeded in arresting a thief – 19-year-old Muneer who was involved in robbing bus, batteries and laptops.
On October 22, a Vrashaba bus numbered KA 19 AB 9799 which was parked in the compound of A J hospital went missing. On the same day, the batteries from several other Vrashaba buses too were stolen, regarding which the bus owner Ramaprasad Punja had registered a compliant at the East police station, here.
On Sunday November 20, when east police station inspector C Kiran was passing through Kadri Akashavani to Kadri temple, he got information that a man was moving towards a room near the deer park in a suspicious manner. He immediately informed the police force and the officials came to the place and surrounded the room. On finding a youth there, they questioned him. Though initially he tried escaping by deceiving the police, on intense interrogation he revealed that he along with his friends were involved in robbing several batteries, and laptops in the city.
The police have seized from Muneer, 14 large batteries, 1 laptop and the bus too which was stolen from A J hospital compound. In all, assets worth Rs 7,17,000 was seized from the thief.
Under the guidance of police commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh, deputy commissioner Dharmaiah, inspector C Kiran, Sukumar K, Subraman K N, Yashwanth Konchady, Veerabhadra Suratkal, Prakash Naik among others were involved in the operation.
