Mangaluru, Sep 11: Srinivas Institute of Technology organized a Fresher’s Day/orientation programme for the 1st year BE /BArch students on September 10.
Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao, chancellor Srinivas University, president, A Shama Rao Foundation, Mangaluru in his presidential remarks said that the students should become leaders in their area of specialization and also, he stressed the importance of communication skill that one should have to reach the good heights.
Dr A Srinivas Rao, pro chancellor, Srinivasa University vice president A Shama Rao Foundation, Mangaluru advised students to contribute for the advancement of science and technology. He spoke about the numerous opportunities available in India's growing economy and encouraged students to think innovatively and take up projects that can positively impact society.
Trustee member A Vijayalakshmi R Rao informed the students to bring good name to the institution as well as for their parents. Mitra S Rao, member, board of governors, Srinivas University, & secretary, A Shama Rao Foundation, Mangaluru spoke about the importance of values that each student should inculcate in their student life and throughout. She addressed the distractions posed by social media, urging students to engage actively in social interactions rather than becoming overly absorbed in mobile phones and social media platforms. During the event, Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao sir also launched the new alumni website, developed by Prof Madhusudhan S who is also an alumni of SIT 2019 batch, along with Adarsh S M of 7th semester AI & ML, Pratham Shetty of 5th semester AI & ML. The website aims to strengthen the connection between alumni and the institution.

Parents, newly admitted students expressed their views on this occasion. Dr Shrinivasa Mayya D, principal of the college, welcomed the gathering and briefly introduced the management, college and head of various departments, the invocation prayer was led by Deeksha Sharma and her team from the 2nd year of computer science engineering. The vote of thanks was delivered by Dr Anant Kumar Kulkarni, head of the department of mathematics. The event was smoothly conducted with Dr Sumana V S and Prof Rashmi serving as the masters of ceremony.
