Mangalore: Pulsating Start to State Level Net Ball Tourney at Sacred Hearts’ High School, Kulshekar

Mangalore, Nov 19: The state level Net Ball Tournament was jointly organized by Dakshina Kannada district and Sacred Hearts’ High School, Kulshekar on November at the school stadium here on Saturday November 19.
Students of18 different schools from all over the state gathered at the ground to take part in the tournament. The event commenced at 9.15 am through a procession from the Holy Cross Church blessed by Fr Valerian Pinto the Parish Priest accompanied by the dignitaries, guests, athletics, school band, school children and the general public.
Sr Marielyta, the correspondent of the High school inaugurated the stadium followed by purnakumb welcome and shriving flowers by the little children. Participants from 18 districts took part in the colorful march past. The school flags were hoisted by the Mayor Praveen, Mariamma Thomas,the corporator of Padavu ward and Sr Wilberta, the superior general of Bethany Congregation.
Deputy director of public instructions Jayashekar Moses welcomed the guests. The Mayor Praveen appreciated the hard work of the organizers and the headmistress Sr Cicilia Mendonca and promised financial aid of Rupees 1 lakh towards this event. Yogish Bhat, the deputy speaker of Karnataka Legislative assembly recognized the efforts of organizers, staff and student towards this great venture.
Shailaja Bhat, president of Zilla Panchayath presided over the programme and expressed her admiration. National Level Athlets of Sacred Hearts’ High School namely Deeksha, Priyanka and Trinette Dsouza were honoured with their parents.
DGM of Corporation Bank R P Arora, Lilly Pais, The City PET supervisor, Sathyavathi, the PTA vice president, Sr Lisa, the superior of Santa Cruz Convent, Flavia Pais, the PET of Sacred Hearts were present to witness this great event.
