Mangalore, Nov 18: Rare musical instruments, Jaltarang, Bansuri, and Rudraveena, will be on display at ‘Corporation Bank Ninaad’ musical programme being presented from 6 pm onwards on November 20. The programme will be presented by Sangeet Bharati Foundation at Town Hall here, stated vice president of the foundation, Prof Narendra L Nayak.
He was addressing a press conference in the city on Thursday November 17. Ajai Kumar, chairman of Corporation Bank, will inaugurate the programme, he stated.
Fusion by Milind Tulankar from Pune on Jaltarang, and Sunil Avchat from Mumbai on Bansuri, will be presented from 6 pm to 7.30 pm. Charudutt Fadke will support the programme on tabla, he added. This will be followed by the rendering of Rudra Veena (been) programme by Ustad Bahauddin Dagar, an internationally acclaimed artiste from Mumbai, from 7.30 pm to 9 pm. Manik Mundhe on Pakhawaj will provide accompaniment.
Nayak said that entry to the programme will be free of cost, through invitations and passes. People interested in music should come to Town Hall one hour in advance to collect their passes, he informed.
Foundation’s secretary, Radhakrishna Rao Perody, and Kannada lecturer of Expert PU College, Karunakar Ballur, were present at the press conference.
