Kasargod, Aug 28: Stephen Crasta (Stephan Kayyar), the Kasargod district correspondent of Daijiworld, lost his father, Carnel Crasta (83). A resident of Kayyar Kondalkad, Carnel Crasta passed away on Wednesday, August 28 evening due to illness at a private hospital in Mangaluru.
The deceased was a senior progressive farmer and had been honored by various organizations, including the Paivalike gram panchayat.
He is survived by his wife, Lucy Crasta, children Irene Rosy, John, Ronald, journalist Stephen (Kayyar), Lavina; sons-in-law, senior journalist Hilary Crasta (Narampady) and Vijay D'Souza (UK); daughters-in-law, Maria Suzi, Wilma and Anita; siblings, Cecilia (Kuppepadavu), Paul (Mumbai) and Pauline (Tokkottu) along with a large extended family.
The funeral will be held on Sunday, September 1 at 4 pm at Kayyar Christ The King Church. The family has informed that the body will be brought home at 2:30 pm on the same day.
Senior writer, columnist, and advocate Thomas D'Souza Seethangoli, along with the Kasargod district committee of the Karnataka State Kannada Journalists' Association, have expressed their deep condolences on his passing.
