Ahmed-Sudesh Duo of Mangalore Univ Wins National-level Contest

New Delhi, Nov 15: A Mangalore University team with Ahmed Bilal and Sudesh Kumar S K as its members, won top honours at the 7th National Level Inter-university Debate organized here on November 11 and 12.
Indian Association of Parliamentarians on Population and Development had organized the debate. The subject for discussion was population and development. The competition centred on the subject, ‘women are more aware about environmental protection than men’. Debating talents from various universities spread over different parts of the country had participated in the competition.
The team of Bilal and Sudesh bagged certificates and a kitty of Rs 50,000 as reward for their achievement. At the same time, Ahmed Bilal also secured second spot in the individual segment of the competition, and received Rs 10,000 as reward. Sudesh had earlier participated in the state level ‘Verbattle Senior’ competition and won one lac rupees as prize.
Ahmed Bilal, a final year BCom degree student of MGM College Udupi, is the son of Farooq Hassan and Asia Shariff from Malpe. Sudesh is a second year BCA degree student of Govinda Dasa College, Suratkal. He is the son of Suresh Kunder, who is employed in Kuwait, and Devaki Suresh.
