Mangalore: Another Murder in City - Bannanje Raja Aide Stabbed to Death

Mangalore, Nov 13: Sandeep Shetty, alleged to be an aide of Bannanje Raja, died of stab injuries at a a private hospital here on Sunday November 13, shortly after he was attacked.

In yet another incident of stabbing, the third in as many days, a man was attacked near Someshwar railway crossing here on Sunday November 13 at around 11 pm.
Police sources said that the victim is Sandeep Shetty (27), allegedly an aide of the notorious Bannanje Raja. Sandeep is accused in murder and robbery cases in Puttur and other places, apart from being known to collect 'hafta'.
Initials reports stated that Sandeep was brutally attacked. Gang rivalry was said to be the motive behind the attack.
It is said that six people attacked Sandeep, when he was speaking on his phone near his mother-in-law's house located near the railway crossing.Police have already identified three of the six persons, it is learnt.
Ullal police rushed to the spot. The victim was taken to a private hospital in the city but he passed away later.
This is the third case of stabbing in the city in the past three days. On Friday November 11, Murugesh and his relative Upendra were stabbed to death, and on Sunday November 13, auto rickshaw driver Ravindra was attacked.
Speaking to Daijiworld, police commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh dismissed any connection between the cases, and said that Sandeep's case was related to rowdyism but had nothing to do with the other two cases.
