Bantwal: Heart of Gold - Honest Auto Driver Returns Valuables, Cash
Daijiworld Media Network – Bantwal (VA)
Bantwal, Nov 13: Here’s a true example of the fact that honesty still prevails in our society. On Saturday November 12, an auto rickshaw driver proved this by returning nine sovereigns of gold ornaments, a mobile phone, and cash and among other valuables left behind by a passenger at B C Road, here.
A resident of Kundapur Kotekar, Muktha Pai had to go to her sister’s place in Bantwal. She got down from the bus in B C Road and hired an auto rickshaw in which Abdul Sattar was the driver. Before going to her sister’s place Muktha made up her mind to go to a temple. She asked the rickshaw driver to drop her to the temple and go. He did so and only on his way back he realized that the lady had left her bag containing all the valuables.
He immediately returned to the temple but could not find the lady there. She had already left the place. He enquired about her with other people at the temple but no one had any clue. He then kept the bag in Usha studio in Padma complex. With the help of other auto drivers he passed on the message which finally reached the lady. She came to the studio and collected her bag. She thanked Sattar for his good deed.
He had done a similar job last year too by returning gold ornaments of Kalladka-K C Road residents that they had left by mistake in his auto.
Some eight years ago, Sattar was felicitated by Bantwal taluk for saving two children from drowning in Panemangaluru’s Netravati river. Kollya swamiji had honoured him by giving Netravati Veera award.
Sattar is an artiste too. With this honest deed, he has won even more praises from people.
