Mangalore: Bearys' Welfare Assn Awards Scholarships to Deserving Students

Mangalore, Nov 12: Scholarships were distributed to academically brilliant students from economically backward families in a programme organized by Bearys' Welfare Association Bangalore at Jamiyathul Falah Hall, Kankanady, on Saturday November 12.
Deputy speaker Yogish Bhat, presiding over the programme, said that the service-oriented mentality needs to be inculcated by all in society. MP Nalin Kumar Kateel was the chief guest. He said that helping others is the policy of Islam and lauded the Association for following it.
Moodbidri MLA Abhayachandra Jain, speaking on the occasion, lauded the effort of people belonging to the Beary community and said that Bearys have the attitude of taking risk to achieve in life. “Even in the education sector, their achievement is commendable,” he said.
MLA U T Khader said that the students who got the scholarship today should work hard to bring good name to the community.
Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy president M B Abdul Rehman, Moideen Bava, Bearys' Welfare Association office-bearers Mansoor and Iqbal were present.
M B Farooq, president, Bearys' Welfare Association, welcomed and delivered the keynote address.
