Mangaluru, Aug 16: Biruver Kudla celebrated Independence Day with grandeur at Narayana Guru Circle in the city, providing Rs 1 lac in financial aid to three families under the leadership of founder president Udaya Poojary Ballalbagh.
Major Damodar Suvarna hoisted the flag, stating, “India attained independence through the sacrifice and martyrdom of many of our elders. We must honour this by responsibly following the law and contributing to the country's development.”
Sahana Kundar Sooda added, “Appropriate guidance is essential to prevent atrocities against women in India, which would give true meaning to the celebration of Independence Day. We all need to consider this and lead our lives accordingly.”
The Biruver Kudla youth group has been building houses for poor families for the past 10 years, regardless of caste or creed. Additionally, they are involved in various social initiatives. Since its inception, the organization has provided Rs 10 crore in aid for medical treatment, education, and essential equipment.
The organization has also offered ambulance services and significant assistance during the COVID-19 pandemic. Currently, the ninth house is under construction for a poor family, and it will be handed over soon, serving as a model for other organizations.
