Mangalore: Road Accident - Sushmitha’s Father too Succumbs

Mangalore, Nov 12: Ramesh Alape, father of accident victim Sushmitha, too breathed his last, according to the hospital sources on Saturday November 12.
He was admitted to Omega hospital this morning in a critical condition but treatment did not have any effect on him. So the family’s little hopes too have gone in vain.
It may be recalled that Ramesh was taking his daughter Sushmitha along in his two-wheeler to drop her to college. But unfortunately on the way the vehicle was hit by a lorry claiming Sushmitha’s life. Now the accident has proved even more costly, taking two lives in a day.

Mangalore, Nov 12: Sushmitha, a first year BA student of St Agnes College in the city lost her life after the two-wheeler she was traveling was hit by a lorry near Yekkur Gorigudda here on Saturday November 12 at around 8.15 am.
Sushmitha was traveling as a pillion rider along with her father, who was riding the Honda Activa vehicle. As she had to attend a camp they had left home pretty early but fate had cruel plan in store for them. The speeding lorry numbered KA.19.U 8740 hit the scooter as a result of which they fell down to the road and Sushmitha lost her precious life. Her father Ramesh Alape is seriously injured and has been admitted to Omega Hospital.
It is said that Ramesh is a slow rider and was always riding his vehicle carefully. The lorry driver after hitting the vehicle escaped from the spot in no time.
For a while no one came to the aid of the Ramesh and his daughter. A doctor who was on his way to Deralakatte saw the two on the road and put them in his Benz car and took them to Omega hospital.
