Mangaluru, Aug 12: The Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) Permude unit celebrated "Yuva Sangam 2024" and National Youth Sunday on August 11. The event began with a 7:30 am mass at St John the Baptist Church, Permude, which included holy eucharistic adoration. The Mass was celebrated by Fr Ronald Pinto, the parish priest of Permude.
During the holy eucharistic adoration, Fr Ronald Pinto prayed for the better future of the youth of the parish, along with the parishioners. The liturgy was conducted by ICYM members, and offerings brought by the members.
The "Yuva Sangam 2024" program was organized in the church hall for all the youth of Permude parish. The program commenced with a prayer song. The dignitaries for the program were Fr Anil Ivan Fernandes, director of Canara Communication Centre, Mangaluru; Fr Ronald Pinto, the parish priest; vice president Henry D’Cunha; secretary Dolphy Pinto; unit animators Roshan Rodrigues and Vinitha Tauro; Youth Commission coordinator Sharon Mendonca; ICYM unit president Sony D’Souza; and secretary Macline Fernandes.
Sony D’Souza, the president of the ICYM Permude Unit, welcomed the gathering. The ceremony was inaugurated by Fr Anil Ivan Fernandes along with the guests. After the inauguration, Fr Ronald Pinto delivered a speech, followed by a vote of thanks by ICYM unit secretary Macline Fernandes.
After the stage program, Fr Anil Ivan Fernandes, the resource person, conducted a session on the topic of artificial intelligence. Later, ICYM Pezar Deanery president Josvita D’Souza conducted activities, games, and action songs. ICYM Mangalore Diocese president Winston Sequeira, lady vice president Riana D’Cunha, secretary Ashlin D’Souza, and former president Mithesh D’Souza, among others, were present.
Lionel Fernandes served as the master of ceremonies. Later after serving lunch the program concluded.
