Mangalore: Man from North India Killed in Hit-and-run Accident

Mangalore, Nov 2: A 28-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run accident at 6.45 pm here on Wednesday November 2.
The accident occured in front of St Joseph's Church, Jeppu.
The deceased has been identified as Lillu from Orissa. He was a plumber staying in Kankanady area here. The identity was established after police called up a few contacts on Lillu's mobile phone, Manjunath Shetty, circle inspector of police (traffic) told Daijiworld.
He was killed when a catering vehicle (KA 19 C 9454) hit him while he was walking on the road. His mobile phone and umbrella were strewn around.
Though the police have not yet found out the name of the catering company, eyewitnesses said that it was based in Kudroli.
Pandeshwar police have managed to trace one person, however, they did not divulge details.
The police are also on the lookout for the catering vehicle's driver.
Lillu's body has been shifted to Wenlock hospital in the city.
