Mangalore: 'Konkan TV', 'Suvarta TV' Launched, Media Advised to Unite People

Mangalore, Nov 1: 'Konkan TV' and 'Suvarta TV' of DigitPro Solutions were launched on Tuesday November 1 at Milagres Church Hall, Hampankatta, here.
Padma Bhushan Dr B M Hegde, former vice-chancellor of Manipal University, Basti Vaman Shenoy, president of Konkani Sanskriti Pratisttan, and M B Abdul Rahman, president of Beary Sahitya Academy, inaugurated Konkan TV.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Hegde said that the newly launched media should do the noble work of uniting people of this region spread across the world. He also said that media should work constructively for the betterment of society.
Harish Karkera, director Tulu channel 'Namma Kudla', inaugurated the Tulu channel of Konkan TV. The Konkani channel was inaugurated by Eric Ozario, Gurkar of Mandd Sobhann. The Beary channel was inaugurated by Abdul Rauf Puttige, managing director of Vishwas Builders.
Fr Denis D'Sa, ddministrator of Father Muller Medical College, presided over the function. In his presidential address, he stressed on ethical principles to be followed in media and said that Konkan internet TV must be the true media of the people.
The Logo of 'DigitPro' was released by Walter Nandalike, editor-in-chief of Daijiworld Media Pvt Ltd. He wished all success for the creative venture. The chief guests of the ceremony were Rohan R Monteiro, managing director of Property Infra Tech Ind Pvt Ltd, and Dolphy D'Souza, social worker.
The web portal Konkan TV can be viewed all over the world. Various events from Mangalore, Udupi, and the coastal regions will be broadcast in various languages like Kannada, Tulu, Konkani, and Beary. One can watch local as well as national and international news channels. There is also the facility of tuning in to FM Radio, watching movies, documentaries, public as well as private celebrations such as marriage, birthdays, inaugurations, feasts, and cultural events among others.
Complete videos will be available on Konkan TV. The videos of cultural, academic, and social functions of a local place will be archived. The rest of the videos will be available on the web for a year. Viewers have the option to watch the programmes according to their convenience. There will also be live telecast of local events. People belonging to the coastal region, but residing abroad, will be able to watch live events on Konkan TV.
'Suvarta TV' which will telecast various Catholic events, especially related to religious celebrations such as Holy Mass, preaching, and feasts, was inaugurated by Fr Denis D'Sa. Along with religious events, there is also a facility to watch religious movies through Suvarta TV.
“The 'Konkan TV Web Portal' on the internet can be easily watched at a connection speed of 512bps – 1mbps,” said Maurice D'Sa, director of DigitPro Solutions.
A cultural programme was organized on the occasion. Maurice and Sylvia D'Sa were present on the dais.
