Mangalore: Daijiworld Weekly Drawing Contest - Last Date Extended by 2 Days
Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore
Mangalore, Oct 31: Due to the overwhelming support and request from parents and students to extend the date for filing entry forms to the contest, ‘Daijiworld Weekly’ has announced the extension of the last date to November 2, 2011. This has been done due to the fact that due to Diwali holidays the students were unable to submit the forms well within the target date. Secondly, due to public holidays many of the schools did not receive the notification sent by the Weekly.
“Although we are already in receipt of a considerable number of entries, we do not wish to disappoint students who took part in the contest for the last two years consistently,” said Hemacharya, editor in chief of Daijiworld weekly explaining the reasons for the date of extension. He also said, “Every year we were getting excited when students and their parents were marching in procession with their drawings towards our offices and this year we cannot afford to deny them the right of participation.”
The drawing competition has been sponsored by Lancy Constructions, the premier engineers, builders and pomoters of Coastal region in association with St Agnes College and will be held on November 6, 2011 at their college auditorium from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm. The results will be announced on the same day and prizes will be distributed after the competition.
The contest is open for school children in two categories, Junior - Class 5 - 7, and Senior - Class 8 – 10 within DK and Udupi districts.
A total prize amount of Rs 25,000 awaits the winners, which consists of three prizes in each category in addition to 20 consolation prizes.
