Mumbai, Oct 31: National film award winning director Sadanand Suvarna inaugurated the youth wing of Charkop Kannadigara Balaga of suburban Kandivali (West) recently.
He said that a youth wing is essential in current times when the new generation is lured by Western culture that threatens the regional languages, traditions, customs, and culture.
Youth wing convener Shobha Bhat said that the youth are busy in internet, mobile, and TV programmes disregarding their native culture and regional language.
Balaga president Bhaskar Sarapady said that the youth wing will serve as a stage for the new generation of Tulu – Kannadigas to instil native culture and promote the regional language.
Balaga secretary M S Rao and advisor H G Bhat were present on the dais.
Joint secretary Raghunath Shetty compered the programme. Vijay D Poojary proposed the vote of thanks.
