Mangalore, Oct 27: German groom Wolfram Wintzer and Aussie bride Jecintha got married at Panambur beach on Thursday October 27 at 5.30 pm in a memorable Hindu ceremony.
The newly married couple, who are archaeologists, believe that Mangalore is a wonderful place with distinctive but nice topography. So, they chose the picturesque beach in Panambur for their special day. Wedding rituals were performed by priests in a small structure built right in front of the beach, with the groom looking stunning in a white ‘kurta’ and traditional ‘peta’ while the bride wore a gorgeous saree.
The duo claimed that their fascination for the Hindu marriage ceremony and their belief that Hindu marriages are ever lasting, prompted them to opt for a similar ceremony.
The parents of the bride were present while Dr Harish Parala and Anjanadevi, scientists in Germany, were present on behalf of the groom. The couple had contacted Yathish Bykampady, CEO, Panambur Beach Tourism Development Project, through Dr Parala. They expressed desire to get married in a unique and memorable manner.
Many locals were invited to this wedding ceremony where ‘samosa’ and ‘jilebi’ also served. Wedding rituals started at 5.30 pm and ended at 7.30 pm. About 80 people were present.
