Kolkata, Oct 24 (IANS): The Indian and England teams arrived here Monday for the fifth One-day International and a Twenty20 game at the Eden Gardens over the next five days.
Under tight three-layered security, the two sides were driven straight to their hotel from the NSC Bose International Airport after they flew in from Mumbai by a special aircraft.
Commandos, Rapid Action Force personnel and a large contingent of state armed police were deployed at the airport and enroute to the hotel. Dummy team buses were also used.
The hotel has also been turned into a fortress and there is thorough checking at the entry and exit points.
India, who have already established a series clinching 4-0 lead in the ODI series, would look for a whitewash as the two sides play the last match Tuesday.
The Twenty20 match will be played Saturday.
