Mangalore: Miscreants Pelt Stones at St Theresa's School

Mangalore, Oct 23: St Theresa's School in Bendore here was targetted by unidentified miscreants in the wee hours of Sunday October 23.
Three people came on a bike and pelted stones at St Theresa's statue at the school. Though the statue remained intact, its fibre glass covers were damaged.
The incident took place between 4 and 4.30 am. The watchman at the school Subramanya heard the miscreants and stone pelting, but when he rushed to stop them, they fled the scene.
A window of the school has been damaged. The school has two watchmen who work on shifts. Subramanya was on the night shift.
Along with Sr Premitha, vice-principal Sr Anitha Menezes and School secretary Sr Rose Celine arrived at the spot at 6.30 am.
Speaking to Daijiworld, Sr Premitha, principal of the school said that she felt bad about the attack on the educational institution, which was running for a cause. "The incident is unexpected as there were no threats or any reason for the act," she said, adding that she hoped the culprits would be caught very soon by the police.
A complaint has been filed in Kadri police station. Sr Premitha in her statement put the loss at Rs 10,000.
Police commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh arrived on the spot and conducted preliminary investigation.
This is the fourth such attack on the school. In 2007 the school was targetted twice, and once again in 2009.
