Mangaluru, May 27: Three people were injured in a head-on collision between two cars on the newly constructed Harekala-Adyar bridge on Monday.
This is the first accident on this bridge, which has a court stay order.
An Alto car driven by a woman was traveling from Puttur to Adyar, while an EcoSport car was approaching from the other direction. It is reported that the woman driver, her co-passenger, and the driver of the other car were injured.
Traffic police arrived at the scene and took necessary measures. Although the land of local residents is expected to be submerged due to the dam, the concerned department has not yet made any decisions on the matter. The case is currently sub judice. As a result, the bridge has not been officially inaugurated, even though construction was completed over a year ago.
