Bangalore, Oct 18: Liquor baron Vijay Mallya is soon going to achieve a new height, this time, literally!
Mallya will reportedly have his penthouse at the top of the 34-floor Kingfisher Towers-Residencies at UB City, which will be home to other billionaires as well.
According to a report published by the Times of India, Mallya's 'White House' will be completed in the next three years, and will be an ultra-modern 'paradise'. The project is being built after Mallya razed his 4.5 acre ancerstral home on Vittal Mallya road.
Measuring an incredible acre, the penthouse will be on the 33rd and 34th floors of the 82-apartment building. Split in two levels, the penthouse would comprise a wine cellar, an indoor heated pool, an outdoor infinity pool, a gym, a salon and a spa, to name a few. The roof of the penthouse will have a helipad, the TOI reported.
Of the total 82 apartments, only 72 are on sale, and among them, Prestige group has 42, all of which are already sold out. The remaining 10 will be shared among Mallya's family.
Of the five entry points, only two will be used at present. "While the millionaire residents will be using the Kasturba Road Cross entry, Mallya has a separate entry from Vittal Mallya Road, which incidentally, is the same entry as that of his old house. The separate entry, which is adorned on one side by a 39,000 sqft private garden, leads Mallya to his personal lobby, a home-office, and a private lift to the penthouse. Each of the other apartments is 8,000 sqft and begins at Rs 20 crore," quoted TOI.
The first four floors are reserved for parking, with resident getting 3-5 car parks. Mallya, however, will have enough space to accomodate 100 cars, apart from a separate area for his vintage models.
"Initially, the project was to have around 100 units in three different sizes, but the plans were changed to have apartments of one size of 8,000 sqft. It is learnt that many of the millionaire buyers didn't like the idea of there being different apartment sizes as such a scenario would result in ego clashes among them," stated the TOI.
That's not all. Even maids serving the super-rich will have their own lobby, lifts and private quarters.
Besides, there will a clubhouse and garden on the fifth floor, a swimming pool on the 10th, badminton court on the 15th and party hall in the 25th floor.
The announcement of the project, though not in clear terms, had first come in 2009, when Mallya said at a press meet that the UB Group had permission to develop an additional 500,000 sq ft of the UB City, in line with the changes in the zonal regulations of the area.
Next year, Mallya again announced plans of a joint agreement with Prestige for a luxury residential project in UB City, at 55-45 ratio.
