Udupi, May 18: "Capturing history through pictures is the best way to preserve history. It is imperative to preserve the artistic contribution of the ancients for future generations," opined Nemiraja Shetty. He was speaking while inaugurating the exhibition of Kallacchu art works which is being be held for three days starting on May 17 at Aditi Art Gallery. He lauded Ravi Verma's contribution in shedding light on the history of print media in India and the works of art.
Artist Dr Janardhan Havanje spoke about the immense contribution of artist Ravi Verma who showed God in human form for social change. He said that there should be a thorough study of the stone copies.
"Along with the production of works of art, making works of art accessible to common people is a unique art. Ravi Verma also joins the ranks of many artists who have produced multiple copies using ancient printing technology," said Dr Kiran Acharya, director Aditi art Gallery.
Venerable 'Vidushi' Pratima Acharya, Srinivas, Prasanna Srinivas, 'Vidushi' Praveena Mohan were present. The art exhibition has been made available for viewing till May 19 from 11 am to 7 pm.
