Mangaluru, May 16: In a tragic incident, a pillion rider died in the hospital after two scooters collided. The accident occurred early this morning, May 16, when a scooter heading from Mangaluru to Thokkottu collided with another scooter crossing the highway at Kallapu Junction.

The deceased was Ahmed Nishad (22), a resident of Kodi, Kotepura, Ullal. Nishad was traveling as a pillion rider with Sayyed Hafiz on a scooter around 4 am when it collided with another scooter crossing from Thokkottu. The impact threw both riders to the road. Nishad succumbed to his injuries in the hospital, while Hafiz escaped with minor injuries.

The other scooter rider, Aboobacker Siddik, a resident of Kuthar Padavu, was admitted to the hospital with serious injuries.

A case has been registered at the Mangaluru South traffic police station.

    Its again same thing.Pillion riders loose their life.The person who caused the accident getaway with little injury or safe.One doesnt foloow rules ,who has to pass first and last.Important is somehow get through however the road situation is.May the soul of dead rest in peace.Heartfelt sympathy to the family.Did the Pillion rider wore the Helmet?
