Dubai, Oct 10: Kannada Koota UAE hosted 'Sangeetha Jaadu 2011' a spell-binding, spectacular blend of fusion music and magic at JSS Private School, Al Safa, Dubai on Friday October 7.
The evening started with soulful fusion band “Hamsadwani” rendering melodious tunes flowing out of magic flute and violin mixed with the sounds of drums and guitars. Though this was their maiden venture outside India, they added an unbelievable volume of energy to the event.
Starting with their instrumental ‘Vaathapi Ganapathimbaje’, they went on to some light numbers like “Hoovu Chelvella Nandhenthithu”, “Virahaa Nooru Nooru Tharaha”, “Banna Banna” etc., all these flowing from the magical flute of Shree Harsha and convincing violin of his brother Adarsh, with synchronized accompaniments from Suchindran in lead guitar, Harish on base guitar, Rajiv on Mridangham, Vasu on keyboard and Ramesh Iyer on drums.
Another guest, famous magician from Karnataka Uday Jaadugar, who also appeared on India’s Magic Stars on Star One TV reality shows, presented his mind blowing magical performance enjoyed by not only the kids but also the adults. His presentation was a blend of comical magic tricks, ventriloquism and entertaining body language. Uday has performed in more than 8000 shows all over and is famous for his 'talking doll'.
Magician Tomy Manjuran who is well known in UAE circles also presented some of his famous tricks well enjoyed by the children.
General secretary of Kannada Koota, M Manjunath, directors Sadan Das and Uma Vidyadhar invited the guests and felicitated them. While president Eranna Mulimani presented flower bouquet to Troupe Members of Hamsadwani and Uday Jaadugar along with Tomy Manjuran. Treasurer Mallikarjuna Gowda welcomed the Hamsadwani troupe and wished them success while elected president of Kannada Koota for the forthcoming year, Basawaraj Salimut introduced Uday Jaadugar and wished him success.
Ganesh Rai, ex-president of Karanataka Sangha Sharjah, expressed the moments of joy experienced and said it was a feast today to all those who assembled in the auditorium and that all are blessed with soulful music and magic. Ravish Gowda, who is one of the sponsor of the event felicitated Uday Jaadugar with flower, memento and shawl on behalf of Kannada Koota UAE. Ex-president, Aruna Muthugadhoor concluded the vote of thanks and appealed all Kannadigas to send their children to the Kannada class and encourage them in learning the language.
Bhagya Sadan Das presented the programme brilliantly throughout in her own style.
