Chikkamagaluru, Apr 20: K Jayaprakash Hegde, the Congress candidate from the Udupi-Chikkamagaluru Lok Sabha constituency, emphasized the necessity for government schemes to be more accessible to the general public. Hegde underscored the difficulties individuals encounter in accessing health insurance facilities implemented by the government, particularly in seeking treatment at private hospitals. He addressed this concern at a recent event in Mudigere taluk, Chikkamagaluru.
He noted that the process of obtaining a letter of recommendation from government hospitals for treatment in private facilities often results in difficulty securing a bed and financial burdens for patients. Hegde proposed solutions to streamline this process, advocating for simplified health cards and the establishment of super specialty hospitals.
Hegde commended the Congress government in Karnataka, led by Siddaramaiah and D K Shivakumar, for fulfilling pre-election promises and earning recognition for its commitment to the welfare of farmers, students, and youth. He expressed confidence in the party's ability to implement projects benefiting all sections of society, including women, if elected to power at the center.
MLA Nayana Motamma, former MLA Kumaraswamy and party leaders were present.
