Dubai, Apr 19: Kannada Paatha Shaale Dubai, the brainchild of Kannada Mithraru Dubai, has been offering free Kannada lessons since 2014 to NRI children in the city. The Kannada Development Authority of the Karnataka government has issued a recognition letter, thereby encouraging the study of the Kannada language on foreign soil.
Shashidhar Nagarajappa of Kannada Mithraru UAE stated that every student who studies Kannada at Kannada Paatha Shaale Dubai and successfully passes the yearly exam will receive a certificate bearing the signatures of the minister for Kannada and culture, the Kannada Development Authority, and the emblem of the Karnataka government.
A delegation from Kannada Paatha Shaale Dubai met minister Shivaraj Tangadagi on April 10 and submitted a report detailing the school's statistics for the past 10 years. This recognition was granted to Kannada Paatha Shaale Dubai as a result of presenting evidence of their selfless service to the Kannada language to the Kannada Development Authority.
"Dr Arati Krishna, deputy chairperson of the NRI Forum government of Karnataka, who possesses comprehensive knowledge of Kannada Paatha Shaale Dubai, took the initiative and elaborated on the school's service to minister Shivaraj Tangadagi. This has contributed to the school's recognition," said president of Kannada Paatha Shaale Dubai, Shashidhar Nagarajappa.
Members of the Kannada Mithraru UAE delegation, including Siddalingesh Revappa, Sunil Gavaskar, Nagaraja Rao, Chandrashekhar Sankole, and Kotresh Yarlagatti, expressed their happiness that their efforts have borne fruit with the recognition of the school.
