Mangalore: Budding Teachers Graduate from St Ann's College

Mangalore, Oct 8: BEd Graduation Day-2011 was celebrated at St Ann’s College of Education (Autonomous) here on Saturday October 8. Prof K Chinnappa Gowda, registrar, Mangalore University was the chief guest.

Dr Sr Lydia Fernandes, former principal and joint secretary of the college was the guest of honour. Dr Sr M Clare, principal, welcomed and introduced the guests.

The college report was presented by Dr Sr Maria Roopa, vice-principal. The programme was co-ordinated by Dr Flosy D'Souza, associate professor.
 
The cultural feast of sound and music with a presentation of medley, energy and rhythm of dances added colour to the programme.

The academic toppers of 2010 in the MEd and the BEd courses, Sumangala S and Kanmani S were felicitated and awarded with a certificate, memento and cash prize of Rs 6,000 each funded by the Alumnae Association.

    Every graduating Teacher comes out with a gift of dedication for the world of Education. Every teacher has at least fifty years (or more) to give the very best of their teaching talents to the younger generation who will learn the qualities of life in order to serve this "small world - a beautiful world".

    Millions of students that rise to the occasion of succeeding in their respective professions remain indebted to their teachers who take so much of pains and efforts in fulfulling their teaching responsibilities.

    The growing population of India needs more and more teachers to share the educational skills without which India will not fit into the 21st millenium. We are in Brazil at present, and the people of Brazil truly admire for what we have achieved in the field of education in India - an emerging power in the fast changing world of innovation and technology.

    We wish St. Anns best of success in all their Educational endeavours that will Mangalore to move forward with pride and honour.
