Brahmavar, Apr 16: "I have drafted a vision document for the Udupi-Chikkamagaluru constituency and I will be seeking votes on that basis. Education, health and environment-friendly tourism are some of the important factors of my vision document" said Jayaprakash Hegde, Congress candidate for Udupi-Chikkamagaluru constituency.
Jayapraksh Hegde held a public roadshow and padyatra here on Tuesday, April 16 and also addressed a public meeting at the Brahmavar bus stand.
Addressing a public rally in Brahmavar, Jayaprakash Hegde said, "There is a need to visit every household and deliver the message today. I did not come here just for elections. I had an office in Brahmavar and it served every person apart from religion. Guarantee schemes should be publicised at the grassroot level. I had sanctioned three national highways during my tenure, but the projects are yet unfinished. The cost of the project has drastically risen and it has becomee a burden for the common man. They are just going to campaign in the name of those sitting in Delhi. The Santhekatte work was started one-and-a-half years ago but if there was copious rainfall like yesteryears buildings would have collapsed. The fuel rates are lower than the Manmohan Singh government, but fuel rates have continued to remain quite high. No one questions this. I have devised my vision document which will be delivered to every household. Education, health and a few other things are my top priority. Let us continue our fight till the last vote is cast."
"We have moved backwards by electing a non-performing MP for the past many years. J P Hegde has vast experience as an MP, MLA and minister. There is a need for a strong leadership in Delhi. Brahmavar has contributed immensely to J P Hegde's political career. Let us repeat the same in this election too," said Prasadraj Kanchan, Congress leader.
Brahmavar block Congress president Dinakar Herror, Bhujanga Shetty, Myrmadi Sudhakar Shetty, Harish Kini, Prakhyath Shetty, Veronica Cornelio, Dr Suneetha Shetty and others were present on the occasion.
