Mangaluru, Apr 11: MLA Dr Bharath Shetty criticized the Congress government for its alliance with the SDPI party, citing the involvement of SDPI supporters in the killing of Praveen Nettar and the Mangaluru Cooker blast. He also provided significant details regarding the Prime Minister's upcoming road show in Mangaluru.
Addressing a gathering on Thursday, April 11, Dr. Bharath Shetty stated, "The Congress government has aligned itself with the SDPI, the political wing of the banned organization PFI, implicated in the killing of Praveen Nettar and the Mangaluru cooker blast. The state government's actions suggest a lack of commitment to winning the Lok Sabha elections, evident in the surge of anti-incumbency under Siddaramaiah's rule. The absence of a national leader and inadequate coordination within the India alliance are apparent. The state government has failed to implement guarantee schemes universally and introduce major projects in Karnataka. Despite two budget allocations, there has been minimal project implementation and capital expenditure."
He continued, "During our tenure, there was a surplus in power production, whereas today, we face challenges. The people of Karnataka grapple with drought and unemployment, yet Siddaramaiah blames the central government. Dakshina Kannada district contributes significantly in taxes, yet the state government claims insufficient funds. Congress stands little chance in this election, with Captain Brijesh Chowta poised to secure a majority of 3 lakh votes. The state government remains reticent about its national intentions and post-election plans."
"Narendra Modi's visit to Mangaluru on April 14 will feature a road show from Narayan Guru Circle to Navabharat Circle. During his previous visit, Modi spoke of his experience in Mangaluru during 'Man ki Baat,' recalling the human wall along the road. Mangaluru residents eagerly anticipate expressing gratitude to Modi for his contributions to the nation. Tomorrow, we will provide route information to the public, and Modi will arrive in Mangaluru from Mysore, concluding all programs by evening. This promises to be the largest road show," he added.
Responding to media queries about security during Modi's visit, Dr. Bharath Shetty assured that security checks were underway, with routes and building terraces being inspected.
Regarding statements from Congress leaders alleging SDPI as the B team of BJP, Dr Bharath Shetty dismissed it as political maneuvering. He emphasized that Congress leaders in Kerala have openly acknowledged the alliance.
The event was attended by Vikas Kumar Puttur, Kiran Kumar Kodikal, Rohit Kumar, Jagadeesh, Vasanth Poojary, and others.
