My friend Mr. Kenneth don't jump to the conclusion. In Mangalore there are many substitute roads for Emergency Cases. Therefore for precaution, the Authorities are educating the Mangaloreans. So that they mentally prepare themselves for which road is free. And Government is not funding anything here. The people Of Mangalore irrespective whether he is Hindu, Muslim or Christian are contributing for the festival. It is not waste. Think in a broad perspective. It will allow more business to come up during these festival. Like Electricians will earn for lightings which will help them to look after their family. More shop keepers business will be in good pace. The creativity what we implement to make the festival successfull will have positive impact and progress right from Chaparasi to software industry. Nowadays many of the softwares are also implemented to make the function more attractive, which will bring profit to Software industry as well as the people who are working in it. These are only few examples. So think about it.

    May God bless you.

This happens only in Mangalore. What if an Emergency case? Will the DC and Police take responsibility? Waste of Government funds and peoples time.
