Bantwal: 15-year-old falls to death from terrace of house

Bantwal, Apr 1: In a tragic incident on Monday, April 1, in the taluk, a boy fell to his death from the terrace of his house.

The deceased has been identified as Adish (15), son of Dinesh Poojary, a resident of Jakribettu.

Adish had retired to bed in the upstairs room, where his aunt was also resting. Early in the morning, he emerged from the terrace room holding a mobile phone. However, shortly thereafter, family members discovered him lying on the ground after falling from the terrace. Despite being rushed to the government hospital in town, it was reported that he had passed away.

The Bantwal city police have initiated an investigation into the matter.

    RIP to Adish Poojary very sad incident. Mostly contractors have half knowledge, they get the work because they have worked under a well known contractors, I think nobody having basic degree or knowledge. And these contractors work for less amount. Our licence issuing department must check properly while issuing completion certificate.

    Sirji; why degrees are required where only logic and common sense can do the job? Many people with two years ITI course+4 years solid all round work experience, in their particular field in a good company, are equivalent to the best degree holders except that they lack communication skills and leadership qualities!!

    There is a big difference in a Engineering degree and an ITI course. Engineering teaches the fundamentals of why and how a certain structure is required and is to be designed. For eg. A civil Engineer will also be studying basic Mechanical, Electrical , electronics and computers in the engineering course such that the can apply this knowledge in his core work area. ITI is just a practical training course which teaches how to build a particular structure with basic theory. Not having a certified engineer is the main reason for unsafe structures in many of the buildings .

    Rip! Most houses are constructed by local self styled contractors (mestris) who don't have much idea of the basic safety requirements like safe height of parapet walls, emergency exit during fire, etc etc..... very common in interior areas....
