Mumbai (RBI), Mar 30: The Billawar Association, Mumbai incorporated 'Guru Narayana Sahitya Award - 2023' sponsored by the late M B Kukyan and the late Acchu C Suvarna and the late Jaya C Suvarna sponsored 'Yakshagana Kala Prashasti - 2023' was presented here on Friday, March 29 evening at Billawa Bhavan, Santacruz East, Mumbai.

Billawar Association Mumbai president Harish G Amin presided over the awarding ceremony where well-known writer and literature Mitra Venkatraj was present as guest of honour and Vaastu consultant Ashoka Purohit delivered blessing speech. 

In the ceremony, former honorary editor-in-chief of Akshaya Magazine of Billawar Association, the late M B Kukyan sponsored by Rs 25,000 cash, memento, certificate 'Guru Narayan Sahitya Award - 2023' to renowned translator, writer, former coordinator of 'Srujana' Mumbai Kannada Writers Association Shyamala Madhav and commemoration the late Jaya C Suvarna sponsored 'Yakshagana Kala Award-2023' to Yakshagana artiste, Arthadhari, Literary Kolyaru Raju Shetty (with his wife Shobha R Shetty) felicitated with guests and president Harish G Amin.

Senior businessman Herga Babu Poojary, Durga Mandir Kalina's chief Kumar Swamy, vice presidents of the association Shankar D Poojary, Dharmapala G Anchan, K Suresh Kumar, honourary general secretary Harish G Salyan, honourary treasurer Rajesh J Bangera, Ladies' Wing chairperson Shakuntala K Kotyan, other office bearers, editor-in-chief of Akshaya Monthly Dr Ishwar Alevuru, managing editor Dharmesh S Salyan, deputy editor Mahesh Karkal, assistant editor Harish G Poojary Kokkarne, cultural sub-committee chairman Srinivasa R Karkera, honourary secretary Naveen Paduinna was on the stage and congratulated the awardees.

Mamata R Naik, Jayaram G Naik, Kusuma Chandra Amin, Keshav K Kotyan, S K Sundar, Adv Satish N Bangera and others dignitaries were present. As part of the entertainment, the artistes of the Guru Narayan Yakshagana Mandali performed 'Krishnarjuna' Yakshagana.
