Udupi: NCC Naval Cadets Participate in Preparatory Camp

Udupi, Sep 30: The preparatory camp and first stage of selections for NCC naval cadets of Karnataka – Goa divisions was held on the Papanashini rivulet in Udyavar, near here, on Thursday September 29.



Karnataka – Goa division directorate air commander S S Deshpande said that 166 cadets from Udupi, Mangalore, Mysore, Bangalore, Karwar, and Goa are participating in the first stage of the selection process.  Forty cadets will be selected in three stages to participate in the national naval camp.

Udupi division commander Bijoy Kumar, assistant camp commander K Narayan Poojary, Mangalore division commander N Ramachandran, Mysore division commander N F Hanifa, Bangalore division commander Pattabiramayya, and Karwar division commander Dinesh Nayakwad are heading the camp.

    As the Camp Commandant of three Pre- Nau sainik Camp it was indeed a challenging task for me. This was the first time Audio Visual Training Aids were introduced by me. I was with the cadets and took part in all the activities like swimming, boat pulling, small arms firing, ship modelling etc and felt rejuvenated
