Bangalore, Sep 29 (PTI): A 22-year-old man from Patna was on Thursday September 29 arrested in connection with the murder of a security guard at a Bank's automated teller machine (ATM) near here, police said.
Chandrappa (53) was found dead with his throat slit near the ATM of Corporation Bank in the early hours, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South Division) Sonia Narang said.
Based on CCTV footage, police arrested Samuel, native of Pana, within two hours of the murder being committed.
When Chandrappa caught hold of Samuel while he unsuccessfully tried to break open the machine, he slit his throat with a knife and fled.
However, the footage was captured on the CCTV installed at the ATM, Narang said.
The knife has also been recovered. Samuel, a vagabond, confessed to the crime during interrogation, Naranag added.
