Web portal for citizenship seekers launched, 'CAA-2019' mobile App to come soon

New Delhi, Mar 12 (IANS): The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Tuesday launched a web portal for facilitating the registration of people, seeking citizenship under the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), 2019.

The MHA informed on X, that a mobile app called CAA-2019 will also be launched soon to expedite the applications by non-Muslim migrants seeking Indian citizenship.

The web portal and mobile app for seeking citizenship under CAA will not only simplify the procedure but also enable non-Muslim migrants to apply for the same, via their mobile phones.

The migrants, who escaped Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan to India before 2015, can apply under the scheme. They will have to first register themselves on the web portal and mobile App and create individual logins, before filling applications for the same.

Notably, the Centre on Monday notified the rules for CAA implementation and also released the application formats which could be filled by migrants for getting Indian citizenship.

The law granting citizenship to refugees pertaining to six religions other than Muslims was cleared by Parliament in 2019.

As per the rules of CAA, any Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi or Christian who came to India before December 31, 2014, suffering atrocities and persecution on religious grounds in countries like Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan, can seek Indian citizenship without producing a valid passport of these countries or a valid visa from India.

India can not manage and provide jobs, better infrastructure, inflation, law and order to its own present 1.5 billion citizens then why add more to this poverty line and drown india to the bottom of abyss???????……Why muslim refugees are refused because they will never vote for BJP????? Aren’t they too minority in india and they too may have undergone persecution in thier country for opposing thier govt. How can the govt deny citizenship to citizens once already had and they even voted?????…..This is purely illegal and anti constitutional and UN will not support this. This is well scripted plan to alienate rightful citizens from voting who are against BJP but those same people who will promise to vote Modi thier citizenship will be restored.

Adnan Samy the ex pak singer, who got indian citizenship under Modi led BJP could be very happy today. This pakistani singer, did not had to struggle to get citizenship in India, if BJP was in power prior to 2014. Many from US and Pak too welcoming CAA. This is what bhakths want from CAA is not sure, but the way the media and bhakths are singing praise for it, it looks so. Indians on their own there are so many problems, this is not something they want to add on and prepared for, is sure. So, this is something that will be thrown out once BJP loses the power this year.
