Durtlang: Christ the King delegation of Capuchin friars celebrates silver jubilee

Durtlang, Mar 6: Christ the King, capuchin delegation of Mizoram, Tripura, Silchar and Barak Valley region commemorated a momentous occasion – the silver jubilee of Capuchin Missionary Presence at Durtlang, Mizoram on March  4, marking 25 years of spiritual growth, community bonding, and shared faith.

The day was filled with immense joy, gladness and cultural richness, as the Capuchin Friars of the delegation and the parishioners gathered to celebrate with a Holy Eucharist and a vibrant cultural programme.

The jubilee celebration commenced with a solemn Holy Eucharist, presided over by Dr Stephen Rotluanga, bishop of Aizawl and concelebrated by the Fr John Alwyn Dias, provincial minister, Holy Trinity Province Karnataka, Fr Robin Victor D’Souza the mission secretary of the province, Fr Stany Roshan D’Souza, the provincial delegate, the friars of Christ the King Delegation, guest priests, sisters and the people of God.

The liturgical service was a poignant reflection of faith and missionary journey- a journey of faith, a journey of fidelity, journey of fortitude, with prayers of thanksgiving for the past, blessings and passion for the present, and hopes for the future. Fr John Alwyn Dias, provincial minister, preached a meaningful homily evokoing a spirit of thanksgiving and renewal.

Following the Holy Eucharist, the jubilation continued with a captivating cultural programme that showcased the tradition of the land and the diverse talents within the students of our various parishes and schools. A cake was sliced to mark the occasion and the pioneers Fr Vincent Monis and Fr Albert Gonsalves were honoured.
 
As the mission of the delegation looks ahead, the jubilee celebration stands as a milestone, inspiring continued growth and shared experiences for the future.
