Kundapura, Mar 3: "The existence of India, which is a fusion of rituals, traditions and cultures lies in religious practices," said Kundapura MLA A Kiran Kumar Kodgi adding that as long as religious rituals are held the country can remain strong.
He was speaking after inaugurating a Kunita Bhajana competition programme on the occasion of 23rd Vardhantyutsava by selected teams which was organised by Brahmashree Narayanguru Mandir, Sri Siddhivinayaka Temple, Kundapura.
President of Kundapura Taluk Billava Sangha Ashok Pujari, who presided over the programme, said that the 75th anniversary of the Billava Sangha has started with deity work. He said that when bhajana kainkarya is carried out in Kundapura, culture will blossom.
On this occasion, Srujana S P, a cricket star who is a champion at the national-level women's cricket was honoured. Later, 20 bhajan teams from the taluk participated in the competition.
