BELGAUM,Sep 27(SAR NEWS) : While the attacks on St. Joseph’s Convent in Belgaum City continue, the recurring incidents of pelting of stones on the convent has irked the parents of the school, run by the convent, and the local Christians as well.
As vandals indiscriminately stoned the main gate of the school during the wee hours on Friday, September 23, the failure of the police in nabbing the antisocials has further annoyed the parents of the school.
Members of the Parent–Teacher association, who submitted a memorandum to Belgaum Superintendent of Police, Sandeep Patil, have strongly condemned the stoning event.
Expressing their shock, the members demanded that the police to nab the culprits aiming at causing disturbance among the students and the teachers of the school.
“We are deeply hurt by the repeated incidents and the laxity observed by the police department in this regard. The event has also caused panic amid the nuns and students of TCH and NTT, along with the school and junior college students, on the campus,” the members have stated in the memorandum, raising serious concern about the developments as the stoning incidents have occurred for the ninth time since January this year.
St. Josephs principal and PTA president Sister Thankam Michael, vice-president Louis Rodrigues and a large number of PTA members were present at the meeting.
