Mangaluru, Feb 26: The annual catechism day was meaningfully celebrated on Sunday, February 25, with the Way of the cross followed by the Eucharistic Celebration at 9 am officiated by Fr Cyprian Pinto, the parish priest.
The children actively participated by taking the lead in the choir and liturgy. Following this, the second part of the program was held in the new Church Auditorium.
The programme commenced with a prayer song. Fr Cyprian Pinto the vocation presided over the programme along with the assistant parish priest Fr Steevan Cutinha, vice president of the parish council Arun D'Souza, secretary Jyothi D'Souza, superior of Bethel convent Sr Joseph Mary, Nirmala Convent Sr Anastel Mathias, catechism Ayog co-ordinator Cynthia D'Souza and Jescintha Veigas, the catechism coordinator were the dignitaries on the dais.
A gracious and cheerful welcome was accorded to all the dignitaries by Babitha D'Souza.
Prizes were distributed to the students for their good performance in the catechism exam and for securing 100 per cent attendance during the year. Catechism teachers were appreciated for their service and were given a gift as a token of love. Students from different classes performed value-based programmes for the audience.
Jacintha Veigas proposed the vote of thanks. Towards the end, a sumptuous snacks and ice creams were served.
