Udupi, Feb 25: "The number of tourists in the district will increase as bloggers educate people about the tourist spots of the district at the national and international levels, creating economic benefits for the people," MLA Yashpal A Suvarna said.
He made these remarks during the inauguration of the Bloggers Meet 2.0 program at Malpe Beach, representing the district administration and tourism department.
Suvarna emphasized that both state and central governments have organized numerous development works to boost tourism, which will significantly contribute to the growth of tourist destinations.
District commissioner Dr K Vidyakumari highlighted the district's many tourist attractions, including beautiful natural spots, religious centers, and beaches. She urged bloggers to provide more encouragement for the development of tourism in the district, citing ongoing development work on several beaches with the goal of promoting tourism.
Manohar Shetty, President of the Association of Coastal Tourism, emphasized the role of bloggers in attracting tourists by disseminating information about the district's culture, rituals, and tourist spots to people in the country and abroad.
The event was attended by Prateek Bayal, chief executive officer of Zilla Panchayat, C U Kumar, assistant director of Tourism Department, Nagaraja Hebbar, president of the Travel Association, along with stakeholders of Udupi district tourism, national and international bloggers, and tourism department staff.
