55 lac students of Govt Schools to get Ragi Malt for better physical-mental health

Bengaluru, Feb 22: As many 55 lac students studying in government schools will be distributed Ragi Malt Mix for their better physical and mental health, chief minister Siddaramaiah said on Thursday. 

Addressing a function held at Vidhana Soudha to launch the distribution of Sai Sure Health Mix for improving the mental and physical health of students studying in government schools, he said better nutritional health enables students to study well and improves educational standards. 

The chief minister said the Congress government had started distributing milk to all students in government schools for five days in a week from 2013, when the milk production increased in the State. The government also started distributing eggs to students for two days every week. 

Siddaramaiah said education will help in improving the lot of the people and underscored the need for nutritional food to children for better health. 

All students in government and aided schools will be distributed nutritional Sai Sure Ragi Malt Health Mix drink from the academic year 2023-24, he announced. 

Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa, Food and Civil Supplies Minister K H Muniyappa and others were present at the function.
