Udupi, Feb 20: "Motorists should get their eyes checked on time and cooperate in preventing road accidents," said Dr K Krishnaprasad, chairman of Prasad Netralaya Super Speciality Eye Hospital.
He made the statement while inaugurating the national road safety event organized by the district administration and Regional Transport Department, Udupi, at the Regional Transport Office hall of the city on Monday.
"In recent days, the cases of road accidents are increasing, and we are witnessing the suffering of the families of those who have died or been injured in accidents," he noted.
Presiding over the programme, regional transport officer P Ravishankar emphasized that drivers should keep to the left side of the roads, avoid moving in the opposite direction, and refrain from using mobile phones while driving. He stressed that the public must adhere to road safety rules for a safer driving experience.
