Mangaluru, Feb 10: The inaugural ceremony of ‘Mangala Magnus’ a state-of-the-art wooden floor indoor shuttle court was held in the campus of Mangala Group of Educational Institutions in Vidya Nagar, Neermarga on Friday, February 9.

The inaugural ceremony was presided over by Dr Ganapathi, chairman, Mangala Group of Educational Institutions. Nidhishree Devadas, national level badminton player inaugurated the indoor shuttle court by cutting the ribbon and guest of honour Dr Sharan Shetty, senate member, RGUHS was present the ceremony.

Dr Anitha G Bhat, vice chairman, Mangala Group of Educational Institutions, Dr Nafseer T A M, academic advisor & consultant urologist, Mangala Kidney Foundation, Dr Praveen Kumar Rai, sports medicine consultant & consultant orthopaedician, Mangala Hospital were present at the inaugural ceremony.

Dr Marie Pinto, principal, college & school nursing, Pratijna Suhasini G R, principal, college of Allied Health & Para Medical Sciences and Dr Bharath K H, principal, college of Physiotherapy had graced the occasion.

Mangala Magnus Badminton Court is on mountain terrain with panaromic view. This shuttle court has features of 100 feet in length, 60 feet in width and 40 feet in height, with wooden flooring made of imported Brazilian teakwood which possesses spring action and elastic properties. This court meets the requirements to host national level tournaments. Furthermore, it is versatile, as it can accommodate other sports viz; volleyball, tennis and basketball.
