Four killed, over 300 injured in violence in U'khand over illegal madrasa demolition

Haldwani, Feb 9 (IANS): At least four people were killed and over 300 injured in the violence-struck Banbhoolpura area in Uttarakhand's Haldwani city, Nainital District Magistrate Vandana Singh said.

The deceased were identified as Johny and his son Anas, Aaris and Faheem.

The curfew will remain imposed in Haldwani city till further orders.

After several establishments, including a mosque and a madarsa, which were illegally constructed on government land, were demolished in Banbhoolpura on Thursday, enraged locals pelted stones on police personnel and mediapersons.

Several police personnel sustained injuries in the attack, sources said. The mob also damaged a JCB machine and set 70 vehicles afire, after which authorities imposed a curfew in the area and gave shoot-at-sight order.

Taking note of the violence, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami convened a high-level meeting over the violence and appealed to the people to maintain peace.

You can call it illegal but has to be proved in court to be declare as illegal but here before the judgement get passed authorities under the direction of Muslim hate rulers bring in bulldozers to demolish... Why do we have courts? Even if have courts, these days they are not run independently but by the direction of rulers who have appointed few of their stooges in such roles... It is not that only Muslim religious places are found illegal. In a country such as India you find illegal religious prayer houses at every nuke and corner be it under the banyan tree, in the middle of hughway, occupied areas such as Mountains, encroachment at road corners etc etc.. If these authorities want to take action then they should not be baised in their actions... Let them demolish their illegal prayer houses first...

Who as given them permission to settle down near railway lines after all property belonged to Railways. To expand it to laid down more of tracks as Uttarkand and Himachal Pradesh meant to be Dev-Buhmi people should vacate it immediately. It's our holy place where in most of our well known dhams are existed. It's in the interest of all muslims to come forward and vacate the same for a peaceful society. By the way darghas/mazaars not allowed in Islam.
